POD Packed
Since my last posting on Wednesday...it has been a roller coaster. My team leader from work (Allan) and my co-worker and great friend (Eric) came over Thursday night and helped pack up the POD.
Eric and Allan were lifesavers for Kathy and I. They kept me in check and did so much. We worked until 10:30 PM on Wednesday in a snowstorm...that was fun.
Thursday, Kathy and I worked on getting more things organized and her friend Tiffany came over and helped out so much. She brought her husband's truck over and we loaded it full of stuff to be delivered to the dump. It was great to release some tension and stress chucking stuff into the dump. Thursday night, my other good friend (Rob) stopped by and helped me move the kitchen table into the POD...then Kathy, Tif, and I packed the remaining pieces into the POD. I can't believe we fit basically our entire house into a 16' x 8' x 8' POD.
Friday morning, Kathy and I put the finishing touches on POD and they came and picked it up around noon and took it away. It felt great to have the Lions Share of the work done. Now, we just have to get everything put into our cars and make the trip to Minnesota.
We're excited and anxious to close and move into our new house. We'll be leaving on Wednesday morning and closing on the house on Thursday morning. Then, hopefully, things will get back to normal (whatever that means).
Tonight, some friends from work are throwing a going away party for us. We are looking forward to it, but also feeling sad that we'll be leaving them. We have been so fortunate to have the greatest friends here in Omaha, who we have had the chance to work and hang out with for the past 5-6 years. They've been there for us, through all of the good times and the bad times. We'll miss them, but will see them often...as both Kathy and I will be back in Omaha regularly for work.
That's about it for now...I'll keep you up-to-date...

Hi, sounds like your making progress. What is your new mailing address going to be, do you know already. Sounds like things having been moving along. This blog seems like a cute idea. Hope all is going well, take it easy on your trip to mN. hugs and wishes, lillian
Dear Kathy and Kyle,
Sound like you two are more than a little busy. Your home is beautiful and we bet you can hardly wait to be settled or at least moved in. I can imagine that Kathy's parents are excited to have you come for Christmas. We are very much looking forward to your mom's visit with all of os.
Love and prayers,
LeRoy and Jean
The great adventure is moving right along. Bet you will both be glad to throw yourselves on the bed and just thaw out from all the activity.
Know your real busy, but if you get a chance can I have your mailing address for the new house? Starting to get a little excited about Doris coming down for Christmas. Hopefully, will be warmer, but seeing what it is here compared to Richard or my Mother, this is good. Take care, once everything is at the new house you don't actually "have to" unpack it all the first week, but seems we all try to. Take care, hugs and wishes, lillian and dennis
that eric guy sounds amazing.
heehee.
Enjoyed reading the blog, brought back "fond" memories of shoveling the snow when we lived in Montana. Sounds like your having fun moving in. The new washer/dryer sounds neat, too. Is the washer one of the front loaders. They have those here at the park and they are pretty nice, no more things getting wrapped around the center pole.
The beard was definetly interesting. Think you are probably cuter without it, :) huray for Doris. She was determined to get there. Getting braver.
Take care, enjoy reading your news. hugs and wishes, lillian
